BIOGRAPHY

•  Tsidii hails from the Kingdom of Lesotho (a country completely land-locked by South Africa).  After graduating from High School she moved to Johannesburg, South Africa after being talent-scouted by Tau Malebo, a relative of  one of South Africa's top singers, Anneline Malebo. Anneline who had been the lead singer for the legendary group,

•  Tsidii hails from the Kingdom of Lesotho (a country completely land-locked by South Africa).  After graduating from High School she moved to Johannesburg, South Africa after being talent-scouted by Tau Malebo, a relative of  one of South Africa's top singers, Anneline Malebo. Anneline who had been the lead singer for the legendary group, JOY ("Paradise Road" fame) immediately accepted Tsidii as the first member of her newly formed group, "South of Sahara," later renamed, "Shadiii, " with additional member, Faith Kekana. The new group quickly established itself as one of the top trios in South Africa,  until amicably disbanding a few years later. 

• Today, Tsidii is the first female artist from the region of Southern Africa to be awarded the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement in Musical Theatre from The British Academy of Composers and Songwriters. Tsidii is currently the only international award-winning female singer on the international scene from The Kingdom of Lesotho.  

• She is the first African artist in New York City history to be granted a MAYORAL PROCLAMATION by New York City’s Highest Office, in recognition of her work as an artist and humanitarian. 

• Tsidii first rose to international prominence for her role as "Rafiki" in Disney's original stage production of The Lion King, where she originated the character on Broadway.

• She created of the iconic lead role  in the original production of THE LION KING ON BROADWAY; and is the memorable lead voice heard by millions on the hit song, “CIRC

•  Her TV credits include lead roles in two STEPHEN KING made-for-television movies ROSE RED and THE DIARY OF ELLEN RIMBAUER.  

• Tsidii was invited by OPRAH WINFREY to perform at MAYA  ANGELOU’S 85th Birthday celebration, and again a few years later invited to perform at Maya Angelou’s Memorial service at Riverside Church, New York sharing the platform with amongst many, TONY MORRISON and VALERIE SIMPSON (of Ashford and Simpson fame).
